6F 2017 - 2018

Mrs Flynn

Welcome to 6F

This term our topic is 'Blitz, Bombs and Little Boys' as we learn what it was like to be 11 years old during World War 2. Our book study is The Boy in The Striped Pyjamas by John Boyne. We have made a great start and everyone is very interested and keen to find out more.

READING
Please ensure your child reads every night and completes their reading record. It doesn't necessarily have to be their reading book from school, a book from home, a newspaper, even a recipe book will do... just as long as they are reading something!

Look out for our new Book Bingo charts that have been atttached to the back of your child's reading record.

HOMEWORK
Homework will be set every alternate Friday and takes the form of our exciting Learning Log. Your child must complete two pages of their Learning Log  - but how they present their work is up to them! Written information, drawings, models or a mix of different  media on a wide variety of subjects should keep everyone involved and engaged!

PE
Children must ensure their kit is in school at all times for PE - PE kits can be taken home every half term for washing.

This half term our PE lessons are spent swimming and kits including hats should be brought to school each Friday.

On completion of our swimming lessons PE lessons will take place on a Thursday.

SPELLINGS

Spelling tests are given each Tuesday after which a new list will be given out. We are simultaneously practising our spellings and our cursive writing - look out for our new spelling sheets.
