1D Autumn 1 Weeks 4 and 5

Date: 5th Oct 2018 @ 4:06pm

This week we have really been focussing on reading. A huge thank you to everyone who is reading at home with their child, I really do appreciate it. Just a reminder that reading needs only be a couple of pages if you have a busy evening. I do not expect children to finish a complete book every night - if they want to, GREAT! Reading at home every night is the only expectation we have for homework in KS1. It really does make a difference so thank you again!  Also look out for the new reading certificates. These will be given each week to children who have really impressed their teacher with reading.

The children have also enjoyed using paint and pastels to create their own firework pictures.  Some children got a little bit excited and managed to get paint on the wall, floor and Mrs Delic!  In maths we have begun to look at addition and different ways we can make a number.  There is new series of Numberblocks on Cbeebies. This will show you a little bit of what the children are doing in school.  The website also has games the children can play on.

Have a great weekend and don’t forget to read!
