Reception Spring 1 Week 1

Date: 12th Jan 2018 @ 7:28pm

Happy New Year! It was lovely to welcome everybody back this week and the children easily slipped back into their regular routines. It has been a pleasure to watch them working hard and playing nicely with each other.

We have been talking and writing about the weather. We all agreed it has been pretty cold and frosty this week and will be investigating ice over the next couple of weeks. There has been lots of interest in our role play area which has turned into a cafe. It is a busy place to work, writing down orders, cooking and serving food, as well as working out the bill! We have been sorting food into groups such as meat, dairy, fruit and vegetables.  There are lots of great talking points with food. Does your child know which vegetable a chip or crisp is made from?

Have a lovely weekend. Well done Reception, you have worked hard and deserve a relaxing weekend.

READING AT HOME - it is crucial that your child gets lots and lots of practise at this early stage in their reading development. Confidence comes with frequent practise. If you need any help or advice please speak to any member of staff and we will demonstrate how we support your child with their reading.

Please note that all PE kits need to be brought back into school please. There are also some asthma record slips still to be returned.
